Tourbillion System
A dark and rarely visited star system in the Scarus sector of the Obscurus Segmented, Tourbillion is occupied solely by the Adeptus Mechanicus on the Forge World of Atriferrum. Visits to the system are hindered by the sole stellar object present: the massive black hole that shares its name with the system itself. Waves of crushing gravity and deluges of exotic radiation flood the area, and only through the knowledge of the safe paths among the debris fields and powerful shielding technology allow the small Forgeworld to survive.
Occasionally, rogue traders, smugglers, and alien marauders enter the system in the hopes of plying the vast graveyards of ships that have tried to pass through for lost technology or alien riches. For the most part the Magi of Atriferrum ignore these interlopers; instead, they allow Tourbillion to deal with them herself. And thus, the graveyards grow over time.
Over the history of the Forgeworld, safe routes through the system have been mapped and catalogued - but such knowledge is only held by the Magi themselves, and they guard it well. For Tourbillion's grasp is the strongest defence for Atriferrum, and one that they have even harnessed in the past via an orbital Ordinatus: the Atriferrum Gravity Surge. Between the natural dangers of the system, and the technological marvels of the Mechanicus, Tourbillion has withstood every attempt at assault that has ever been thrown at it.
